An Giang Glutinous Rice is a premium sticky rice variety widely cultivated in An Giang, Dong Thap, and other provinces of Vietnam’s Mekong Delta, with the Phu Tan planting area in An Giang recognized for producing the best quality. The grains are medium to slender in shape with an opaque, milky white color. When cooked, the rice becomes very soft and highly sticky, making it ideal for traditional Vietnamese cakes such as Banh Chung and Mooncakes, as well as other glutinous rice dishes. Grown in up to three crops per year, An Giang Glutinous Rice is produced in stable volumes and is widely exported to markets including China, the Philippines, and Malaysia.
